I’m Karen and thank you for visiting my page.
I am a qualified Holistic Therapist and full member of the BCMA (British Complementary Medicine Association).  Since 2004 I have been working from my treatment room at home based in Ackworth, West Yorkshire offering a range of therapies such as Reflexology, Aromatherapy Massage and Hot Stone Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candling and in June 2018 became fully qualified in Beauty Facials.

I first became interested in holistic therapies having been on maternity leave with my second daughter.  I had been a secretary for 15 years and during this time became a wife and mother of two beautiful daughters. I always believed there was a career more rewarding out there for me and, having sourced a local prospectus for study in an alternative direction, I was introduced to Reflexology.  Upon further research I became interested in the therapy and qualified as a practitioner which then resulted in a passion for holistic well-being and a desire to gain more knowledge and experience of other therapies.

In March 2018 I also became an Independent Consultant with Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic.  I am passionate about the wonderful range of natural, organic body and skincare products using them in my therapies and bespoke facials helping to promote a sense of well-being and inner beauty.  Alongside using the products in my treatments, I’m also a stockist of Neal’s Yard Remedies and for any information/ordering of products please do not hesitate to contact me or browse my NYRO shop page.

TREATMENTS

Reflexology

A pressure technique working on precise reflex points on the feet stimulating healing on mental, spiritual and physical levels. The deeply relaxing nature of reflexology allows the body to release tension and stress that can build with everyday life helping energy to flow more freely throughout the body.

Aromatherapy Massage

Full Body Massage and Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage.
The use of essential oils extracted from flowers and plants which, when uniquely blended, can provide a natural, holistic massage.  The healing properties of the essential oils can alleviate symptoms associated with stress and relieve tension, aches and pains, aiding in relaxation and helping to balance emotions and improve well-being.

Indian Head Massage

Working on an emotional level relaxing the scalp, pressure point massage of the face to relieve tension, together with a neck and shoulder massage this treatment is a deeply relaxing therapy.

Hot Stone Massage

Using a combination of warm, basalt stones with a deep flowing massage.  The general heat from the stones relieves tension and stress, together with aches and pains in the muscles and joints, aiding in deep relaxation and well-being.

Hopi-Ear Candles

A pleasant and non-invasive treatment of the ears for conditions such as headaches and migraines, sinusitis, hay fever, alleviating tinnitus and equalising pressure in the head and ears.  The treatment includes a pressure point and lymphatic facial drainage and scalp massage.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic Facial

A sensual facial using natural and organic aromatherapy products beginning with a relaxing back or foot massage. Following cleansing and exfoliation of the face the treatment includes a facial massage to relieve tension and stress, treating the skin with a holistic approach helping to feel fresher and more radiant, promoting inner beauty and well-being.
